Paragon looks to acquire Lesotho diamond project

Paragon Diamonds Limited announces that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lucara Diamond Corporation to acquire a 75% interest in and operate the defined Mothae Kimberlite Resource, which is located only 5 km from the world class Letseng le Terai diamond mine in Lesotho.

At a bottom size cut-off of 2mm, the deposit hosts some 39Mt of kimberlite containing 1.06M carats with an in-situ value of US$1,097 million.

It is Paragons’ intention to fast-track Mothae into substantial production by using and upgrading the existing 75 tonne per hour trial mining plant, which is located on site under care and maintenance

The Acquisition is subject to approval from the Government of Lesotho, a binding share purchase agreement, contracted albeit agreed funding and certain other regulatory approvals.
